Old Songs COVID-19 Safety Policy

Things are changing fast again in the world of Covid safety. NY’s indoor mask mandate has ended and individual businesses are once again allowed to make their own choice about mask rules.

Please understand that the music industry is unique. First, the audience gathers in close quarters for two or more hours. Second, artists are living on the road, traveling from venue to venue across the country and the world. In some places, venues behave as if they never heard of Covid. In other places, they have extensive air purification and masked, vaccinated staffs. If an artist gets sick on the road, it’s a disaster. The tour ends and they may or may not be able to reschedule the dates. All income stops. Their careers have been on hold for two years, they like the rest of us, cannot afford to get sick.

VACCINATIONS REQUIRED: Because you will be in close proximity to other parties, and because we are under contract with many artists who are working hard to stay safe as they play venues across the country, we are still requiring all audience members, open mic performers, artists, as well as staff and volunteers, to be vaccinated against Covid-19. We are not making exceptions for people unable to be vaccinated for medical reasons. We do not accept same-day tests in lieu of vaccination.

So that we can properly enforce this policy, please have your CDC Covid-19 Vaccine Card, a phone photo or photocopy of the card, or your Excelsior Pass ready to show at the entrance.

MASKS REQUIRED: This is an area that is changing rapidly, and we ask that you be patient and kind. Masks have more value at a concert than at your favorite corner store. When you come to a show, you will be in close quarters with others for more than two hours, so we ask that you remain masked while in the building. All staff and volunteers will be masked as well. Artists will be masked when not performing.

Additionally, if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID (cold, cough, runny nose, flu-like symptoms) at the time of the event, please stay home, and you will receive a full refund.

Capacity is being limited to allow for social distancing. Please purchase tickets ahead of time, if possible. No unpaid reservations. There will be No Walk-ins allowed for SOLD OUT Shows.

The Old Songs community — staff, volunteers, patrons and artists — has done a phenomenal job getting through two years of Covid safely while presenting a limited schedule of performances. It’s not over yet, but thanks to you, we’re making progress and hope to see you at a concert and the in-person festival.
