Harp Workshop & Concert
at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Latham

In partnership with The Northeastern Mountain Chapter
of the American Harp Society

A Celtic harp player of international renown, William Jackson has been a moving force and a major influence, not only on the popularization of the Celtic harp, but on Scottish traditional music. A founding member of the group Ossian (1976-1989), he has also had a distinguished solo career as a performer and a composer. We are fortunate to offer an opportunity to learn from and enjoy the artistry of William Jackson as he presents a workshop followed by a concert in Latham.

Schedule:

  • 2:00–3:30 pm—Workshop: “Accompanying Other Instruments”
  • 4:30 pm—Concert

Join us! Explore the possibilities of the Celtic harp as it applies to ensemble and session playing with other-folk oriented instruments, then sit back and appreciate William Jackson’s mastery on the instrument and the depth of his connection to the music of the British Isles.

Cost:

  • Workshop only—$40
  • Concert only—$20
  • Bundled cost for both events—$50
