Returning to Old Songs, last seen here at the 2014 festival, Matuto is a full time touring collective built around the core of Clay Ross (guitar) and Rob Curto (accordion). Employing renowned musicians from across NYC’s diverse jazz, roots, and world music scenes, this performance of Matuto will feature a four piece ensemble of guitar, accordion, bass and drums. Joining Ross and Curto are Josh Hari on electric bass and Aynsley Powell on drums. With an honest love for roots music, genuine Brazilian styles, and improvisational experimentation, Matuto creates a unique and inspired sound from the heart of New York City’s diverse musical culture.
